I thought I would get weird and throw out some facts...

PG&E Power sources (Retail Sales)
Biomass and Biowaste 2.6%
Geothermal 2.6%
Eligible (i.e. small) Hydroelectric 1.2%
Solar Electric 15.0%
Wind 8.3%
Coal 0.0%
Large Hydroelectric 10.1 %
Natural Gas 16.4%
Nuclear 42.8%
Other 0.0%

PG&E has planned to eventually phase out nuclear as overhauling and re-certifying their nuclear power plant would cost more than available alternatives. But maybe not...

And if you want to go all green right now you can pay about 5% more and get power that is only wind and solar.

As for myself, after adding solar and really insulating my house I found that I produced quite a bit more electricity than I used. Maybe it IS time to get an electric vehicle.
