Was there ever a serious effort to do any work on it? Was it just given to the city or was there an organization formed to do the restoration? It's surprising how much work it takes to do just a cosmetic restoration. That's why I laugh when I hear people complaining about how bad a park engine looks and "all you have to do is slap some paint on it". Yeah, right. It takes a serious effort by a dedicated group to restore and maintain a piece of equipment. It will have a much better home at the Inland Northwest Rail Museum.
