Fact: the CHSRA has always been and continues to be a hot stinking mess of unmitigated incompence.

Fact: The Reason Foundaton will indeed be jumping with joy and having orgasmic bursts of sheer delight that they can point to a mess like this to promote their nihilistic death to all trains post indrustrial apocalypse zombie feucal Ayn Randian utopia.

Fact: The reporters at Steetsblog are mostly air headed hippy dippy new urbanist "true belivers" without the experience or good sense to pound sand down a rat hole. They are every bit as delusional as the "true believers" on the other fringe from the Reason Foundation. This is coming from people who show up at many a public meeting, and tell us to all to believe that we will all bicycle to nirvana, with eight bags of groceries and two screaming kids to take to piano lessons.

Fact: National Cities lines made a lot of money converting dilapidated depreciated electric rail systems to buses. And, no, this "vast evil oil company conspiracy" is on the order of Mouse's fixations with the "vast evil BART conspiracy". Yes, these were selfish greedy corporations who made money, and ain't it a terrible shame it happend...yadda, yadda, yadda....

Fact: In 1948 LA voters turned down a measure to buy and modernaize the elecrtric rail lines and it lost by appromimately the same 4% margin as the next four transit measures would fail in LA, until Prop. A was passed in 1980.

So, now that we're done with that.... What is being done to fix the CHSRA "runaway money train" and rethink what rail services we can prioritize passenger rail investments we really need, use, and that we can really afford to build and operate? Hell, maybe even in this century some time?

Maybe that's just me....? Probably because I doubt Marty and Doc are going to fix the flux capacitor on the DeLorian to go back and save Roger Rabbit from the "vast evil anti-rail conspiracy" anytime soon...
