Leesdale Siding/DT extension engineering contracts up for bid.

I saw tonight that the engineering and design contract procurement for the Leesdale siding extension have been released by OCTA for LOSSAN North, between Camarillo and Oxnard. This is another project that has been under planning and a "high priority" project for the last twenty years, that is finally funded...

It takes too damned long, but at least the "new" infrastructure bill is finally moving up the existing Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) lists of well vetted and cleared projects, and not reinventing the process from ground zero like they did with the CAHSRA fiasco, and trying to call it "shovel ready".

The only thing that was shovel ready about the CAHSRA project in the last 2008 rail bill and 2009 stimulus, was the shovels full of crap that Mehdi Morshed was shoveling for Barbara Boxer...
