Exactly, it's a ridiculous comparison.

Priceline can get you ~$100 round trip if you book 3+ weeks out and are willing to fly on the cheap days... AND for this purpose SFO<->LAX is often cheaper, because you will get repositioning flights from the major carriers where say a 787 needs to be at the other airport. OR, you're going to be on a regional jet which is going to be hard to keep the prices down.
