Many, many SP loco's and LATL street cars went to National Metals on Terminal Island. I recall seeing long lines of smaller SP engines avaiting their date with destiny and old LATL cars piled three-high for burning. Also, there was a scrapyard just across the street from the PE San Pedro line Thenard car stop which processed SP cab-forwards and a few Santa Fe engines during 1954-55. I took some photo's there on several occassions courtesy of the gate guard and his dog "Termoil"
