Too bad about the loss of this segment. It should be a separate daily train east of New Orleans anyway.
The line between N.O. and Mobile is a scenic segment with many bridges spanning estuaries and other waterways. It rarely gets is due in the list of Amtrak scenic routes. A pleasant surprise for those who have ridden it!
