Whenever NEPA and CEQA are "misused", according to these folks, it is always by "evil" "elitist" Nimby's, trying to stop wonderful projects by well meaning developers and agencies who are doing only good things for mankind, like residential and transportation projects, right?

Those projects are never the ones by greedy developers who don't want to pay for proper mitigation of things like traffic impacts or impacts on existing communities from those cummunlative impacts and cost they impose on others, right? Onlyu the good hearted and wonderful developers are hurt by those "evil" "elitist's" "misusing" CEQA or NEPA, right?

And, those same "evil" and "elitist" Nimby's are misusing CEQA and NEPA, if they oppose "good" transportation projects, like useless bus lane projects, or expensive traffic circles which increase accident rates, or transit projects, which have unmitigated impacts, right?

But, those folks using CEQA or NEPA are environmenatl stewarts fighting the "good fight" when they use CEQA and NEPA against projects which improve conditions for the "evil" automobile, but also have unmitigated cumulative impacts, are environmental hero's, right?

Or, is it, as this article would have me believe, just terrible when citizens give bureaucrats, greedy developers, and special interests a hard time on poorly planned or mitigated projects, and have the tiemerity to stand up and use CEQA and NEPA to protect their self interest and property rights from the impacts of that kind of shoddy planning and poor mitigation?

It appears that this article just seems to think it sucks, when greedy developers and impatient bureaucrats have to actually comply with these laws designed to protect our environment and our rights to have impacts properly mitigated when these projects and their impacts are imposed on our communities, right?

And, ain't that just awful?

It makes you almost want to cry for those poor developers and bureaucrats, don't it?
