#5209 was built as an DRS6-6-1500, rebuilt to 1600 hp in mid-50's, written off after a switching mishap squashed the short hood and cab in June 1961.

SP had bought their first 3 DRS6-4-1500 A-1-A A-1-A units in June 1948 following the use of the Demonstrator 1501, suitably impressed with the TE, went back for 12 C-C units in Mar'49.

DRS6-6-1500 units ride higher on their trucks than the later AS616 model.

SP AS616 units were #5228-.
