What's the Latest on the Proposed Boston-Montreal Passenger Service?

A while back there was some proposal from some group or individual who was proposing overnight sleeper rail passenger service between Boston and Montreal. What's the latest on this proposal?

What route would the train take? The B&M-CP route that was used pre-Amtrak now has portions that are abandoned.

Here's a map that shows New Hamshire, courtesy of the Wall Street Journal. Unfortunately it does not show railroads, but could someone shed some light on what routing the train would take?
