Westbound traffic and single tracking because of rail and tie work delayed the rotaries eastbound trip to Truckee. The crew was called for 7 a.m. but the consist didn't leave Roseville until 10 a.m. It got as far as Bowman and waited there for the Unit Grain Train and the Fun Train. It didn't get going east again until after 3 p.m. However, after that, the rotary set made one of the fastest times ever for Big Snow blowers at column one speed passing Colfax at 4 p.m. Blue Canyon around 5 p.m and Soda Springs at 6 p.m. and arriving at Truckee around 6:50 pm, 10 minutes before the crew would die. No work was performed. The U.P. will train crews and personal on the westbound return trip to Roseville tomorrow.
