Washington still will not allow an end user with solar or wind generation at their homes or
businesses to profit from their electric production. In Washington, you can only offset your
bill to the point of what you owe, beyond that, any electric production simply goes to the
power company or the BPA (Bonneville Power Admin. a.k.a. Federal Government) who can sell it and keep the funds. In other words, don't put any more solar panels on the roof of your house
than what you can use yourself---any excess you will simply be giving away. This law only bases the taxes and allowed rates on these other states. The details are in the fine print.
