The 3 ex Montreal commuter cars are still on the Tunnel 7 siding in the Carriso Gorge!

NO !

HEP.

Not in Jacumba, MP 92.8, the cars are at Dubbers Spur, MP 96!
Not abandoned, just throughly trashed to the point of scrap!
Yes they have HEP!

> Who owns these cars?

These cars are under the control of East County Dirt Works! This company won a
judgement against the principals of the Bad CZRY/PIR, with these cars part of that
judgement! This company owns most of the equipment that was leased to CZRY, later
the leases were taken over by the Bad CZRY and they stopped payment of the
leases, thus the court case and judgement!

MTS knows these cars, not abandoned, are on the Tunnel 7 siding and at Dubbers Spur!

NO !

NO ! At least one Hyrail truck!

These cars were tampered with by vandals, idiots, thieves(take your pick)
and they released the handbrakes on these cars! The tail end of the spur is actually
higher than the mainline and eventually these cars overcame gravity and rolled on the spur with the front truck of the lead car rolling through the switch points onto the mainline.
Momentum stopped and the cars rolled back down the spur with the lead truck rolling down the
main track. When the angle became acute enough the second axle of the lead truck derailed and
rolled against the north rail of the spur stopping all movement! The string of cars that sat that way for more than a year until Baja Rail had someone assist them in rerailing the car
and rolling them back into the spur. Today the 5 ex C&NW cars along with an ex SP/SDAE 50'
flatcar are still on the spur, sitting in pairs, once again tied down and hopefully this time with
skates or something to chock the wheels!

NO !

They NO LONGER have any control of any portion of the SD&AE!
PIR filed bankruptcy and Baja Rail bought the supposedly(per MTS)
Non-Transferrable Operating Rights from the bankruptcy court!

MTS owns the 3 carbodies in Jacumba, while PSRM owns the 2
in Campo! These 2 are the oldest of the wood carbodies remaining on the SD&AE.
The 2 at Campo, were donated by MTS, used to be at Jacumba with the other 3.
These were originally brought onto the SD&A Railroad for use as Section Housing
for MOW crews and as temporary depots on some portions of the line, Coyote Wells as one example!
