Those cars have been there in Oceano for about 25 years, give or take. Both were bought from Amtrak at auction circa 1980. The obs car is ex-Amtrak obs tavern lounge 3345, ex-SCL, ex-SAL Budd 1947. If I recall correctly the diner is ex-Amtrak 8067, ex-GN, PS 1947. During the first maybe 10 years the cars were there the interiors were still pretty original, including booths in the obs lounge and General Fireproofing dining car chairs in the diner. But through the innumerable restaurants that have oporated out of the two cars, at some point all that stuff was thrown in the dumpster and now they have been "fully restored" as the Rock N' Roll diner or what ever they call it.
