Gelhaus open house, Spokane WA

Mike Gelhaus, who lives in Spokane WA has a fine collection of NP North Coast Limited passenger cars. They are in various stages of restoration, from "really nice" to "oh my, you can't be serious!". These cars will be open for a public open house this weekend, from 12 noon to 5 pm Saturday 5/2/2009 and Sunday 5/3/2009. Mike will be present to answer questions and tell about the cars.

Here is a list of Mike's cars:

SP&S 601 Pullman lounge car "Mount St. Helens", built to NP plans
NP 328 Slumbercoach “Loch Ness”
NP 309 Dome Sleeper
NP 313 Dome Sleeper
NP 496 Travelers Rest
CB&Q 557 Dome Coach
NP 549 Dome Coach
NP 581 Holiday coach

The cars are located just north of the BNSF Yardley yard office in the Spokane Valley. Go east on Wisconsin Ave from Havana St about 1 block and turn north to parking BEFORE you cross the tracks that lead to the unloading ramp. You will see the cars about 1/2 block north of Wisconsin Ave. There is plenty of free parking.
