Yes, as a long time presenter at TRB on HOV lanes and urban bus lanes, like Ottawa, or the Orange Line in LA, I have seen some Bus lane projects that are quite successfual under proper design and when warranted that meet good performance standards. Most arterial lanes are generally useless and have been shown to have little to know impact on travel times. The number of riders on the Arterial bus lanes are the same or lower than before the bus lanes were installled and such a measue is not a measure of efficiency like say travel time savings.

Housing? And, ass to the rest of your interesting rant and conspiracy theories about Brighline, did you hear that somewhere? And, if Brightline made a profit by also developign real estate, that would be just terrible somehow? Are these capitalist swine making an "evil" profit (that then hopefully still make the payments into my "evil" socialist pension fund????)....

Putting in a properly designed arterial bus lane in, for say at least a minimum of twenty plus buses per hour each way might make some sense, depending on how it is designed and operated, and what kind of bus on bus and other traffic impacts/conflicts can be reduced. But spending tens of millions of dollards to p in a busway for 4 peak buses per hour for a rural service in Monterey or even for 4 LACMTA buses each way per peak hour Eagle Rock is crazy, for no real observed travel time savings....

Believe very very hard.... And maybe the numbers won't really matter, right?
