People object to "15 minute" cities because they don't like being told how to live. It makes their "freedom" nerve twitch. They want the freedom to dump used motor oil and tires into the environment too.

I never have done that. Nor wanted to do that. I don't know anyone who does that. Another lefty strawman to justify forcing everyone to live how loser lefty control freaks want.

Given a choice most parents would prefer a single family home on a quiet street in a safe neighborhood with their own fenced in yard. More than 1 kid and most like the convenience of an SUV.

"We r totally not forcing this on you." As they abuse the EPA to force conversion to smaller EV's. Backdoor ban gas powered cars. Sue oil companies for not promoting 'Climate Change.' Enact strict Urban Growth Boundaries and then approve nowhere near enough housing.

"There's no grand plan, why would u think that? So conspiracy theory!" As they throw open the border to UN/NGO/China/Soros/Dem mega donor funded and organized massive immigration. Which fuels inflation. Fuels competition for housing and scarcity. Refusing to slow it down even as it has become massively unpopular as the #1 issue for voters. Almost like they have a plan to insure it either won't cost them the election. Or will let idiot Trump win then crash the economy with the help of fellow traveler countries and organizations. The systemic crash they need to propel their revolution to an eventual new Socialist utopia. Which has always soon ends up as a totalitarian state. It worked in 2020 with China's plandemic taking down a US admin hostile to them.

Yes. I'm sure "But this time" Mr. WEF approved 15-minute city has nothing to with politics. Unlike nearly every other concept raved about by the "We're totally not leftist!" modern urban planning schools. Just a little nonpartisan guy that likes walking.

It is ok to want to improve cities and to have an ideological organizing concept. Results can be good like Paris, DC, Columbia, MD. But don't lie to me about all of the reasons and the tradeoffs. Don't force, give people choices. But that's the problem. With real choices most people don't crowd themselves into expensive utopias where transit is still inefficent until decades away buildout. Transit and cities where stupid, ideological driven decisions can make them unsafe. In the suburbs our towns r small enough that usually the politicians can b voted out if ignore too much the will of the average voter. Who often have a choice of driving or park-n-ride transit to work. Not forced to ride.
