Re: High Speed Rail, Among Other Things-So What is going on in Morrocco....
So what is going on in Morrocco?
Morrocco has opted for "up to" 320 kmph... And they are designed to operate into and out of urban areas without spending $10 billion to tunnel under Burbank like the CAHSRA fiasco on existing tracks.
Like Brightline, the Moroccan HSR system is not afraid to slow down here and there to save billions in needless construction costs (Some countries do cost/benefit analysis of the alternative optimal time/cost tradeoffs, unlike CAHRA has ever done?) and still offer time competitive travel times to fill trains.
Good little overview of one of my favorite HSR's in one of my favorite places
