Funny that Amtrak does not serve "most of the places they (passenger trains) used to", and many Amtrak stops are nothing more than "curbside" stops (platforms with no staffing, Customer Service, baggage service, trip planning services, taxi calling, rental cars, etc.) They are platforms with a bench and a sign.

Amtrak is 100% guilty for cherry-picking its "more profitable" stops in more affluent and desirable locations, and shutting down "less profitable" stations providing no alternative except for passengers to figure it out on their own with rental cars, public transit, or giving up on rail altogether.
