Here's a post I made a couple months ago where there was a discussion about the pros and cons of working on the railroad and the pros and cons of being in certain crafts.
I've certainly had worse jobs. One job I didn't care for too much was an inventory control clerk for a sheet metal finishing company. A lot of it was just working at a computer terminal in an office cubicle with artificial lighting and no windows nearby where you could see the outside world. The boss was a jerk and I rejoiced when they were downsizing and got rid of me.
