My wife & I chose Reno for our wedding last year,( the day after Winterail ); I was looking forward to a return visit after 14 years. I was very disappointed at the run - down look & many closed casinos downtown. Even Harolds Club was gone. A thrift shop owner blamed the rise of Tribal Casinos for the demise of downtown Reno; I have to agree based on the many large casinos built by the tribes here in Puget Sound since I moved here in 1995. Now " Las Vegas " - style gambling is as close as Auburn or Tacoma, instead of a trip to Reno.
