Short answer: the older ones anyway. So if you somehow haven't collected "rare miles" on a genuine 1987-model Siemens-DuWeg U2 this might be time for a trip to Sacramento. Except for electronic destination signs and advertising wraps, a lot of them are *very* original. They have 72 of the Siemens S700 low-floors trickling in, and are retiring the olde ones (up to 76 of them) as the new ones go into service. Public service with the S700s started on the Gold Line (Sac Amtrak - Folsom) in September. The high-level 2000s CAF cars will remain in service for a while longer. Unknown what's happening with the UTDCs they got for scrap from VTA and rebuilt a few of for use only on the Blue Line (Watt Ave - Cosumnes River College), but scrapping once there are enough S700s to replace them is very likely.
