It is amazing how many "No Trespassing" signs are placed either on public property or are deliberately placed in an ambiguous location requiring a plat map to figure out if they are valid. I especially like the ones that make it appear the road is private but actually refer to the land off the road. And of course there are those signs placed at the advice of an attorney to avoid lawsuits when every one in the community, including the property owner, knows the signs are to keep out beer parties and squatters but not hikers, photographers, etc. Does anyone know if the signs mentioned in the previous post refer to the road or to property adjacent to the road? I am wondering if these signs are valid or simply ambiguous. Is it illegal to remove (destroy) an illegal or purposely ambiguous sign?
