Actually, there have recently been many moves WITHOUT any diesel, since they have up-graded the PTC system to be entirely on 4014. Thus, any diesel included in the consist is mainly for additional power, in order to conserve fuel with heavy passenger train consists, and/or dynamic brake In heavy grade areas.
