Charles,

Yes, in 1985 SEPTA was using these on the #23 line that goes to Chestnut Hill via Germantown Ave. When I was there in April, the #23 was only running on the inner portion of the line from the 10th and Bigler to Erie Ave. so I did not get any of these near Chestnut Hill. When I was there in 1980, only the outer portion of the #23 was running from Erie Ave. to Chestnut Hill and they were still using some pretty well beat up PCC's in a variety of colors. When I was there in 1976, #23 wasn't running at all. So, in three trips I never saw it running its full 11 mile route. Actually, in 1980, being on the outer end shooting photos almost caused me to miss my flight (when I was still doing that barbaric form of travel) home.
