The huge RR museum in Illinois has wooden cars and Baldwin diesels that haven’t been touched in 30 years at least. Twenty years ago the cars had original paint and the wood was saveable. Now it’s too late. When they acquire yet another slightly different EMD variant (GP-13M or whatever) you know the other stuff will never be restored.
