Windmill trains

On June 19, saw a long (50-car or so) UP freight going east -- every car was a flat car, and every car carried a part of a windmill turbine or blades... amazing sight, adn the first time I've seen this. Is this new traffic? It makes so much sense to put them on the rails rather than truck -- whcih require an OVERSIZE load driver riding shotgun front and back of the big rig with the turbine part. This train was in Hood River Oregon ....
