Interesting footnote about Kodachrome, Dr.! And Jon Porter makes a good point about collection management. A digital file certainly will not take up the space of several filing cabinets- provided one continues to spend capital on digital program upgrades and the hardware/software combinations that must support it. One of the key reasons I haven't scanned anything is that I need a scanner that can handle 35mm, 120 and 4x5 negatives, as well as a deck for 11x14 and 8x10 prints. That's a huge price tag for something that will last perhaps ten years before it is too obsolete to be supported by system operating software. I'm proud of the fact that my newest camera component dates from 1982 and works flawlessly!

I still prefer film for many reasons, and I will continue to use it until I am absolutely forced into the eventual massive investment of the planned obsolesence that any digital technology promises. However, one thing I do like about digital imaging is its excellent ability to capture the true colors at night without the problem of reciprocity failure and differing emulsions and light sources. I've found it challenging to capture green light at night on transparency film without it washing out to light yellow, but I've learned a few things that make it possible. But I digress...
