The railroad never had a location called "the spot." This location was once along the Farwell Siding at approx. MP 32.25. The grade for the siding is visible on the "north" side of the main. The next major feature to the east is Mayborg Curve which has been another popular spot for photo run-bys. The current spur popularly known as "The Spot" is actually the east end of Farwell Siding.
