(Wendell)...Lassen County Supervisors have sent an important letter of support for a
company that will buy the old Union Pacific Railroad line from Wendell to Flannigan.
The county has no direct interest in the line, but if the new company, V @ S, LLC
keeps it operational, it will serve Honey Lake Power and a potential range of Industrial
and commercial venues to be developed later. It passes by the back door of Sierra Army
Depot with a spur onto the base. The new owners will allow a year to see if the line
can remain viable.
