Also, since the New Haven ran into Grand Central, their locomotives were set up to run on 11000 VAC from the overhead on their own lines and switched over to an underrunning shoe about New Rochelle running on 600VDC for the run into Grand Central. The New Haven FL9 locomotives were also capable of picking up the 600 VDC with an underrunning shoe for the run into Grand Central.
