Yeah, there is now light rail direct to Portland Union Station (or at least just across Irving Street).

Light rail service along the downtown Portland Transit Mall also opens up another rail-to-rail intermodal connection at Portland State University, where the ROW crosses the Portland Streetcar route between northwest Portland and the South Waterfront. There is, in fact, a two-block stretch of SW 5th Avenue that has both MAX and Streetcar -- one track on each side of the street!
