Green Means Go...

And that's what triMet's inaugural Green Line train is doing as it arrives at Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland Sep. 12.

The official first train was met by Portland's own Get A Life Marching Band playing the 1970s R&B classic "Love Train" and by a shower of green confetti.

As it pulled up to the platform, an entourage of green-class dancers danced their way off the train and into the square.

TriMet offered free rides on the Green Line Sep. 12-13 as part of the opening weekend celebrations. The new MAX Mall Shuttle, a Monday-Friday afternoon service on the downtown Transit Mall, was also scheduled to begin Sep. 14.

Photo Server Instructions

During the maintenance period this morning I added an FTP site that you can use to post photos on Altamont Press.

Follow the directions below to save photos:

1) in Windows explorer enter "ftp://trainnews.webhop.org" (w/o quotes)
2) once the window opens right clich the mouse and select "login as"
3) enter photos for the login and trainnews for the password
4) copy you photo to the file server
5) close the window when you photos are copied

To post the picture copy the text below into you posting and replace FILENAME.JPG with your photos filename.

[trainnews.webhop.org]

I am running this as a test and have a smaller disk assigned to the service, please limit you photos to a max size of 800 x 600 as this will fill the screen in the post and leave more space for others. I will delete photos above 384K and also move photos them into an archive periodically.

Please send comments or questions on the photo server to trainnews@att.net
