Sad, to say the least. I helped build some of this railroad, and it was done professionally, safely, and with great care for the existing environment. Many people enjoyed working, and then riding on , this unique project. I never did think to ask about building permits, though, and probably assumed that all was OK because, for one reason, the owner is a landscaping contractor, and then, a Lane County Commissioner was driving spikes and tamping ties right next to me one day! He was having as much fun as I was, through the rain and mud and sore muscles, and it was like a community project to help someone - all of us. Sad, to say the least.
