Re: Altamont Commuter Express may drop 4th train

In March I was in the Bay Area and was considering riding the ACE from San Jose to Stockton and Amtrak to Oakland. However, I was unable to figure out how to get from the ACE station to the Amtrak station in Stockton and was advised that it would be a very bad idea to walk from one station to the other because the area between the two stations is unsafe.

At the time, ACE's afternoon departure from San Jose was on a speciail schedule, so maybe Amtrak's connecting buses didn't work out.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
