Back in '87 or so, I had a permission trip with my AA Fairmont from Willits to Eureka.
Did not know anything about the line having welded rail until we got up around Loleta, then
it got a little quiet and the car just skated along the fastest I ever had it. Got to
Eureka, left my motorcar, then the 4 of us rode back to Willits in the hi-railer. I had to
drive back to Eureka, load the car and then drive home. It was a 24 hr. day alright.
