The vast majority of railroad bridges are still built with treated timbers. Small to large bridges all across the country are still made with treated timbers. Railroads do not replace a bridge just because it has treated wood. When a repair is needed they they look at the cost of replacement or repair. Timber Stuctures are not time bombs and have served the railroads well for over 125 years.
