With the Grand opening for the restored NWP in the not too distant future I wonder if there are any plans for a NWP Grand opening return to service train complete with a ribon cutting ceremony? I think there are several options available, 1 Borrow Cal train equipment on the weekend and give a sample of SMART commuter rail. 2 Borrow the Wine Train, and run a Napa to Windsor excursion. 3 Run a Amtrak special or 4 what about the American Orient Express? Allthough this might sound like a crazy idea I think it would have some merit. 1 Draw some positive attention to the reopening of Rail service to the area and 2 give us rail buffs and the public a chance to ride and see the restored line. I for one would buy tickets. I inspected some of the ROW today from public property and it looks great!
