Wonderful infomation regarding that line on Piedmont Avenue. I recently got a tie spike from the line when the East Bay Municipal District did some water pipe renovation along the Avenue.
The ties were still in the ground under about 8 inches of asphalt. I live there and you are also correct that it was technically a "two block" line. Ramona Avenue intersects the stretch between Mountain View Cemetary and Pleasant Valley Avenue (but only on the southeast side). They also uncovered the concrete foundation of the turnaround directly in front of the cemetary entrance.
