Can you imagine what it would cost to buy and clear from scratch the land just to get the right of way for the Santa Cruz branch? Even if they lose all of the remaining freight business [hopefully they dont] it is still a good price. by the way you may note that lease payments alone are enough for the line to be profitable. they should buy it and bank it for the future.
