I'd say because he had money burning a hole in his pocket! Evidently M-B turned
him down on the purchase of Chrysler and he felt some need to place the nearly
4.5 billion he offered for Chrysler. BNSF is somewhat undervalued and a pretty
decent buy. As to beyond that, I would look for a fairly quick merger with someone
to increase the influence of that 10%, only a guess.
