Additionally of interest it seems that before electrification in East Bay, SP ran steam local trains on then exising 4 track line to Richmond... thus Carlson Bvld thru El Cerrito in the 30's appeared to have a dedicated right of way wide enuf for 2 tracks between two lanes of pavement.. Anyone know if there was a plan to extend the 9th St SP electric line to some point in Richmond??
