If you work for the railroad and are wondering what a torpedo is, my advice would be to strap it to a track and kick a car over it. Stand back about 2 car lengths and watch the pigeons fly away when it goes off.

As for anyone obtaining them, I don't know of any RR that still uses them. I remember seeing some for sale on Ebay once. Someone finds a flagging kit every now and then and puts it, and the contents, up for sale there.
