Your dream is to be applauded I suppose, but it made little sense. It was never going to happen, especially once you got over to the Santa Clara side. Trains through Los Gatos again? Sorry. The sand pits were closed within a decade anyway so your traffic base would have been eroded. The route was dead for a reason.

Say what? SP had little to do with the industrial base of the northern county disappearing. It's hard to keep a customer when said customer closes up shop. It was mostly all gone by the time UP arrived on the scene. As for intra-county intermodal trains, well.....
