In the early 1960's I too worked the Central Washington branch of the Northern Pacific. You have to know what you are looking for to even find traces of the depots that I worked as relief agent in Almira, Wilber and Reardan. I billed cars out of these very same grain elevators. Even in 1963 the track was a real roller coaster. I would stand on the platform with a fusee in my hand and watch the train roll through. The cars would rock and roll until you were sure they will roll right over at times.
