Could this be an excuse ... ??

Tahoe considering a run for the 2022 Winter Olympics (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2010/01/03/MN2M1B7MHS.DTL).

The last time, it was the excuse for building Squaw Valley and Interstate 80 (I-80 was long planned but had to be done in time for the Olympics so that kind of settled the priorities). This time around, could it be the catalyst for improving rail passenger service to the area?
