The American Freedom train acquired a triple-unit car to serve as its press/VIP car. However, I do not remember its former number. It may be the one at PLA.

My understanding is that all of the steam and electrical equipment was stripped from the underside of the car since it was going to be HEP'd to go along with the rest of the train.

However, the Freedom Train ran low on money and the project was terminated. Instead the cars from the Preamble Express (former "Springmaid" cars) were used. These cars operated throughout the run of the train and were dispersed to various owners.
