Wendel, or what's left of it is indeed in CA. It was a crew change point at the Junction of SP's Fernley & Lassen and Modoc lines. I have pleasant memories of eating at the old railroad beanery and watching crews cut in helpers for the long pull up to Alturas and K Falls. I read somewhere that most of the buildings were razed but I haven't been up there in many years. DPG
