Most of these nitwits (learned or otherwise) aren't historians, and even if they were they'd still omit the facts to suit their purposes. This guy clearly doesn't know squat about his chosen subject (he probably thinks that having been a "senior policy official" at the FRA gives him credibility but it doesn't give him actual knowledge; far too many people at the FRA haven't actually worked for the railroads in any capacity that allows them to really understand how railroads work from a true railroader's perspective) and nothing he says is any different from the other rabble-rousers who have brought this subject up.
