California Western Double Header June 1974

It was June of 1974, Richard Nixon was still president but in two months would become the first person to ever resign from that office. That same month, a photo special was operated on the California Western using both of their steam locomotives, 2-6-6-2 #46 and 2-8-2 #45 from Fort Bragg to Willits and return. In this photo, the train is getting ready to depart Willits for Fort Bragg and excercising a short amount of trackage rights over the NWP.
